his half-birthday

We don't celebrate half-birthdays; I just use them as an excuse to flood the blog with photos from the last 6 months. Here are a few of my favorites since Gavin turned 3.

Of course the biggest thing to happen in his life ever, not just in the past 6 months, is the birth of his sister. He's SUCH a fantastic brother; he's affectionate and loving towards Sophie, and we're extremely grateful! (And he's her favorite person by far.)

5 months

Sophie is still super-sweet, and we absolutely adore her! She's growing exponentially, too big even for some of her 6-month tops. Giggles are sparse, except Gavin can ALWAYS get her to laugh even when Jacob and I have been trying with no success. This month Sophie took her first airplane rides and has now visited 6 states. She's dangerously close to rolling over.

Hopefully this isn't TOO many photos of her... Is there such a thing? ;)

Easter (better late than never)

We had a great Easter weekend, especially the egg hunt and feast we had in Cincinnati.

cousin conference - over skittles

Sophie and her cousin James are only 5 weeks apart

Emily made this incredible hazelnut dacquoise. It was even yummier than it was beautiful!

Of course everyone dressed in their Sunday best for church on Easter. 

Sophie had a wardrobe malfunction during church--it involved bodily fluids--so she's wearing something different for the bunny ear pictures we took after church (below).
